OPTEX SMS (Smart Mobility Sensing) Division Sales Manager – Western U.S

OPTEX is a leading manufacturer of sensor products and currently has an immediate opening for a Regional Sales Manager in the Western U.S. territory. In this role, you will meet with distributors and end users throughout your assigned territory to support sales and business development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with integrators and end users.
  • Work to meet assigned quotas and ensure growth within your assigned territory.
  • Attend National and Regional expos.
  • Be able to travel 50% of the time with the other 50% working out of a home office.
  • 3 to 5 years selling experience either in a manufacturer role or working with an integrator.
  • Knowledge of project layouts and how to develop a design is a must.

Requirements

  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision with 3-5 years of sales experience with an industry-related product.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with courses in construction management, architectural design, and computer systems highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and the roles of end-user, owner, architect, construction manager, general contractor,  distributors, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications, facility standards, and technical installation instructions.
  • Strong communication, time management, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
  • Desire and ability to demonstrate sales leadership.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations.
